Founded in 1873 as Kiyohara Shoten. The Kiyohara family, the predecessors of the company, is said to have begun weaving tsukeori in the Muromachi period (1333-1573). Since then, the family has continued to carry on the business of tsuzukiori weaving. While being involved in the restoration and renewal of decorative curtains for cultural properties throughout Japan, we also hand weave fukusas for betrothal ceremonies, kimono sashes, and kimono accessories. In order to preserve tsuzukiori for another hundred years, we continue to take on new challenges without being bound by stereotypes.
